Day 289 Signs of Fall

The Monarch Butterfly is attracted to the fluffy, purple, flower spikes of the Liatris, also known as Blazing Star, Gayfeather and Snakeroot. It's a Texas native fall perennial that  grows all over the pasture, but I can't get it to live in my flowerbed.

 These berries are growing on the briars, the birds do not eat them.

 This banana spider is living on my front porch. 

I'm leaving her there because she knows how to make a zig zag stitch.

We've had 3 inches of rain since Friday ! 1.5 Friday night and 1.4 last night....but I'm calling it 3 !

The first bit of rain since the first part of August and it had been a long time before that !
